Every chisel and every piece of wood is a masterpiece: Why are we so obsessed with awakening the soul of wood through handcrafting?
In this era that pursues efficiency and mass production, the roar of machines seems to drown out the warmth of handcrafting. And we have always been steadfast in our small world of woodcarving, stubbornly communicating with each piece of wood with a chisel and sandpaper - because we firmly believe that true woodcarving is never a simple "processing", but a process of awakening the dormant beauty of wood.
Every piece of wood has its own story. They once basked in the sunlight and listened to the wind and rain in the mountains and forests. The rings of their growth bear the marks of time, and their texture carries the breath of nature. Machine engraving may be able to quickly replicate regular patterns, but it can never understand the "temperament" of wood: which grain is suitable for natural outlining, which scar can turn into a unique landscape, and which inch of wood needs to be gently polished to avoid damaging its natural luster. The significance of handicrafts lies precisely in this "understanding".
Our artisans will first sit still and observe the wood, repeatedly touching its surface with their hands to feel its density and the direction of the grain. When the engraving knife drops for the first time, it is not a cold cut but a warm "awakening". Sometimes, in order to preserve a natural tree tumor, artisans will modify the original design. Sometimes, in order to allow the wood grain to naturally spread out in the finished product, it takes several hours to adjust the carving Angle. The subtle curves that machines cannot replicate and the warm touch after repeated sandpaper polishing are precisely the rebirth that wood has been given by hand.
When a wood carving is completed, it is no longer an ordinary piece of wood, but a "living entity" that carries the memories of nature and the warmth of the craftsman. We are dedicated to craftsmanship, not for the sake of speed, but to ensure that every person who possesses it can feel the dual warmth from nature and handcrafting when touching the wood grain - this is the original intention of our commitment to woodcarving.
